For those who value over maximum performance, USB2.0 drives offer a lot of storage for your money, though they're typically slower to read and write data to. With USB and USB Type-C being more expensive per gigabyte, but offering faster speeds.

For photographers, or anyone who is using storage in a professional environment. We will almost always recommend the highest specification storage. For example, if you're recording an hour-long video onto an SD card in 4k resolution, you want to know the card can handle frequent high-speed transferral of data.
