Enterprise-Grade Security for Small to Midsize Businesses
Because smaller companies are generally less protected and easier to break into, small business has become the new big target for cyberattacks. The Firebox M290 and M390 firewalls are specifically engineered to defend all types of small businesses against attacks that are no less fierce than those targeting larger organizations.

Stay Ahead of Evolving Threats
The M290 and M390 are part of WatchGuard's award-winning Firebox security platform. The platform not only provides the most complete suite of unified security controls on the market today, it has consistently been the first to offer solutions for addressing new and evolving network threats including advanced malware and ransomware. Our unique product architecture enables small and midsize businesses to leverage best-in-class security services

DHCP server A server is a system which that responds to requests across a computer network to provide, or help to provide, a network service. DCHP servers uses the DCHP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), which is a standardized networking protocol used by servers on an IP network to allocate IP addresses to computers. The purpose of DHCP is to automate the IP address configuration of a computer without a network administrator. IP addresses are typically selected from a range of assigned IP addresses stored in a database on the server and issued to a computer which requests a new IP address. An IP address is assigned to a computer for a set interval, after which, the computer must renew the IP address or acquire a new one.
DHCP client Whether the product features a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) to obtain IP addresses within a network.
Quality of Service (QoS) support
Point-to-point protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) The Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) is a network protocol for encapsulating PPP frames inside Ethernet frames. It appeared in 1999, in the context of the boom of DSL as the solution for tunneling packets over the DSL connection to the ISP's IP network, and from there to the rest of the Internet. A 2005 networking book noted that "Most DSL providers use PPPoE, which provides authentication, encryption, and compression." Typical use of PPPoE involves leveraging the PPP facilities for authenticating the user with a username and password, predominately via the PAP protocol and less often via CHAP.
Security
Security algorithms Security algorithms are used to provide authentication, cipher key generation, integrity and radio link privacy to users on mobile networks. The security algorithms supported are the ones that can be used with this product. HTTPS, SNMPv2, SNMPv3
Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI)

Ports & interfaces
USB 2.0 ports quantity Number of USB 2.0 ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. USB 2.0 was released in April 2000 (now called "Hi-Speed"), adding higher maximum signaling rate of 480 Mbit/s (effective throughput up to 35 MB/s or 280 Mbit/s), USB 2.0 ports are usually black. 2
Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports Number of Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports allow a computer to connect to the ethernet. 8
Ethernet LAN data rates The different speed levels of the Ethernet LAN connection. 10,100,1000 Mbit/s
Serial ports quantity The number of serial ports in a computer or peripheral. A serial port is a serial communication physical interface through which information transfers in or out one bit at a time. The term "serial port" usually identifies hardware more or less compliant to the RS-232 standard, intended to interface with a modem or with a similar communication device. In modern computers and peripherals, serial ports have largely been replaced by USBs and other interfaces. 1
Power
AC input voltage The voltage of the AC electricity that is inputted into the product. 90-264 V
Input current 1 A
Power consumption (typical) Amount of power consumed by this model, often expressed in watts (W). Typical values that manufacturers give are power consumption when off, standby/suspended mode, typical use, maximum usage. 65 W
Certificates
Certification WEEE, RoHS, REACH
Operational conditions
Operating temperature (T-T) The minimum and maximum temperatures at which the product can be safely operated. 0 - 40 °C
Operating relative humidity (H-H) 5 - 90%
Operating altitude 0 - 3000 m
