Sony BRC-X1000, IP security camera, Indoor, Wired, 33 dBi, Auto, Manual, Shutter priority AE, Ceiling
Remotely capture broadcast quality 4K images with smooth, silent PTZ and excellent low-light sensitivity

The BRC-X1000 is Sony's first 4K remote camera, combining uncompromising broadcast picture quality and smooth, silent PTZ operation with the flexibility of 3G-SDI and HDMI connections.

Designed for remote operation, this compact but powerful robotic camera is an ideal complement to other broadcast cameras for capturing images in hard-to-reach or unobtrusive positions. It's equally at home in TV newsrooms, remote studios and on-air suites, auditoriums, houses of worship, courtrooms or sports stadiums. It's also particularly suited to efficient multi-camera set-ups, under the control of a single operator.

The 1-inch type Exmor R CMOS image sensor captures detail-packed 4K footage at 30p with four times the pixel count of Full HD, and excellent low-light sensitivity. The large image sensor also allows the creation of beautiful bokeh effects with a shallow depth of field to suit any artistic intention.

Speedy, near-silent PTZ operation with 12x optical zoom accommodates wide-angle scenes and tightly framed close-ups, with Clear Image Zoom 18x (4K), 24x(HD) extending this range even further without visible loss of resolution. Broadcast-friendly features include dual tally lamps for on-air operation, while operational flexibility is enhanced with options for ceiling, table top or tripod mounting.

There's also a broad range of video interfacing and remote control possibilities - plus support for PoE+ and genlock - for smooth integration into any broadcast, professional or corporate AV environment.
Performance
Type Characteristics of the device. IP security camera
Placement supported Where the product can be placed e.g. indoor/outdoor, horizontal/vertical. Indoor
Connectivity technology The technology that enables connectivity of the device, e.g. wired or wireless. Wired
PTZ control
Day/night mode
Antenna gain level (max) Antenna gain is the measurement of an antenna's ability to amplify the incoming microwave signals in a particular direction, compared with the sensitivity of an isotropic antenna in any direction, or a dipole antenna in the equatorial direction. 33 dBi
Light exposure modes The different lengths of time for the exposure for a camera e.g. longer exposure for low light. Auto, Manual, Shutter priority AE
Design
Form factor The shape or design of the product. Dome
Mounting type Type of mounting e.g. wall mounting. Ceiling
Product colour The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white. Black
Camera
Minimum illumination Also known as light sensitivity, this is the smallest amount of light needed for the camera to produce an image of useable quality. 1.7 lx
Lens viewing angle, horizontal 64.6°
Tilt angle range -30 - 90°
Tilt speed 60 °/sec
Pan range -170 - 170°
Pan speed 60 °/sec
White balance Technique in photography and image processing, which involves a global adjustment of the intensities of the colors (typically red, green, and blue primary colors). An important goal of this adjustment is to render specific colors – particularly neutral colors including white – correctly. Auto, Indoor, Manual, Outdoor
Camera shutter speed Determines the length of time the shutter lets light pass through the lens to the CCD. Shutter speed and aperture together determine exposure. 1/10000s - 1/8 (59.94/29.97), 1/10000s - 1/6 (50/25)
Image sensor
Optical sensor size Optical sensors are electronic detectors that convert light, or a change in light, into an electronic signal. They are used in many industrial and consumer applications e.g. lamps that turn on automatically in response to darkness. Optical sensors come in many sizes. 1
Sensor type A sensor is a convertor than measures a physical quality (light, temperature etc.) and displays this electronically on a device. CMOS
Lens system
Zoom capability The amount that the camera lens can zoom.
Optical zoom Indicates the optical zoom capacity, which is the number of times that the picture can be enlarged with the optics of the camera. 12x
Auto focus Device focusing a camera or other piece of equipment automatically.
Maximum aperture number 4.5
Focal length range Measure of how strongly the system converges or diverges light. For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance. For an optical system in air, the effective focal length (f and f′) gives the distance from the front and rear principal planes (H and H′) to the corresponding focal points (F and F′). 9.3 - 111.6 mm
Video
Total megapixels A megapixel (MP or Mpx) is one million pixels, and is a term used not only for the number of pixels in an image, but also to express the number of image sensor elements of digital cameras or the number of display elements of digital displays. For example, a camera that makes a 2048 × 1536 pixel image typically uses a few extra rows and columns of sensor elements and is commonly said to have "3.2 megapixels" or "3.4 megapixels", depending on whether the number reported is the "effective" or the "total" pixel count (as opposed to the 2048 × 1536 = 3,145,728 finished image pixels). 14.2 MP
Supported video modes The video modes that can be displayed by the device. 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 2160p
Frame rate 60 fps
Automatic gain control
Full HD Full High Definition (HD) means that a display supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel, and has a digital TV connection.
Network
Ethernet LAN An Ethernet LAN (Local Area Network) interface is present, for a wired conection via a cable.
Networking standards The way in which the network is working, e.g. IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g. IEEE 802.3at
Wi-Fi Popular technology that allows an electronic device to exchange data or connect to the internet wirelessly using radio waves.
Storage
Built-in HDD The product has a hard drive built into it.
Ports & interfaces
Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports Number of Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. Ethernet LAN (RJ-45) ports allow a computer to connect to the ethernet. 1
HDMI ports quantity The number of sockets (ports) for HDMI connections. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed video data and compressed/uncompressed digital audio data from a HDMI-compliant device ("the source device") to a compatible computer monitor, video projector, digital television, or digital audio device. HDMI is a digital replacement for existing analog video standards. 1
DC-in jack The socket/plug where the DC electricity supply connects to the device.
Interface Interface ports to connect pieces of equipment. USB (Universal Serial Bus) has become the most popular wired interface to connect peripherals. USB 2.0 supports speeds up to 480 Mbit/s (USB 1: 12 Mbit/s). The interface FireWire is also known as the IEEE 1394 standard. Enhanced IDE (EIDE)is sometimes referred to as Fast ATA, Fast IDE or ATA-2. RS-422
Power
Power source type What the power source is. PoE
DC output current 13.2 A
Power over Ethernet (PoE) The device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), which is one of several standardized or ad-hoc systems which pass electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras.
