Brocade ICX 7250-24, Managed, L3, Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000), Full duplex, Rack mounting, 1U
Future-proof switching at entry-level price

Meet tomorrow's needs today-even if you don't know what those needs will be. Use the same standard ports for uplink or stacking, phase in SDN, and expand one switch stack to multiple locations. You can even add more advanced ICX family features with HyperEdge. And only Brocade lets you manage switches across network layers from a single touchpoint.

Enterprise-level capabilities

- Full Layer 3 support on delivery; Advanced Layer 3 capabilities through the Switch Port Extender
- Manageable via open standards
- Market-leading stackability with up to 12 switches per stack, and up to 80 Gbps of stacking bandwidth
- Manageable via standard CLI and BNA enterprise management tool
- Future proof with OpenFlow support for network programmability
Management features
Switch type What switch device has, managed or unmanaged. Managed
Switch layer A network switch is a computer networking device that links networking segments. A switch has different layers, such as layer 2 (a network bridge, operating at the data link layer, interconnecting a small number of devices) and layer 4 (can act as a firewall, amongst other things). L3
Quality of Service (QoS) support
Web-based management Using a website/web application to manage something.
ARP inspection
Ports & interfaces
Basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports quantity The number of basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports (sockets). 24
Basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports type The type/category of basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports (sockets). Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000)
Gigabit Ethernet (copper) ports quantity 24
SFP+ module slots quantity 8
Console port USB
USB 2.0 ports quantity Number of USB 2.0 ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. USB 2.0 was released in April 2000 (now called "Hi-Speed"), adding higher maximum signaling rate of 480 Mbit/s (effective throughput up to 35 MB/s or 280 Mbit/s), USB 2.0 ports are usually black. 2
Network
Networking standards The way in which the network is working, e.g. IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g. IEEE 802.1D, IEEE 802.1Q, IEEE 802.1ab, IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1s, IEEE 802.1w, IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3ad, IEEE 802.3af, IEEE 802.3at, IEEE 802.3az, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3x, IEEE 802.3z
10G support The product can use Oracle 10G, which is a database management system introduced in 2003.
Copper ethernet cabling technology 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T
Port mirroring
Full duplex A full-duplex system allows communication in both directions, and unlike half-duplex, allows this to happen simultaneously.
Flow control support
Link aggregation
Broadcast storm control
Rate limiting
Auto MDI/MDI-X A Medium Dependent Interface (MDI) describes the interface (both physical and electrical) in a computer network from a physical layer implementation to the physical medium used to carry the transmission. Ethernet over twisted pair also defines a medium dependent interface crossover (MDIX) interface. Auto-MDIX ports on newer network interfaces detect if the connection would require a crossover, and automatically chooses the MDI or MDIX configuration to properly match the other end of the link.
Spanning tree protocol
Virtual LAN features Stacked VLAN, Private VLAN, Tagged VLAN, Protocol-based VLAN, Port-based VLAN
Number of VLANs 4096
Data transmission
Switching capacity The data transfer capacity of the switch per second. 208 Gbit/s
MAC address table The MAC address is the 'Media Access Control Address'. It is a unique address given to a network interface controller (NIC) in a device. A MAC address table shows the addresses in a table format. 16000 entries
Latency (1 Gbps) 1.5 µs
Number of trunks 16
Number of queues 8
Jumbo frames support
Jumbo frames 9216
Security
DHCP features DHCP server
Access Control List (ACL)
IGMP snooping
Security algorithms Security algorithms are used to provide authentication, cipher key generation, integrity and radio link privacy to users on mobile networks. The security algorithms supported are the ones that can be used with this product. 802.1x RADIUS, AES, EAP, HTTPS, SSH, SSH-2
MAC address filtering Security access control method whereby the 48-bit address assigned to each network card is used to determine access to the network. MAC addresses are uniquely assigned to each card, so using MAC filtering on a network permits and denies network access to specific devices through the use of blacklists and whitelists.
Loop protection
BPDU filtering/protection
Authentication MAC-based authentication, Port-based authentication
Protocols
Management protocols SNMPv1/v2c/v3, TFTP, TELNET, Bootp, HTTPS, sFlow, SNTP
Supported network protocols Network protocols tested as compatible with this product e.g. FTP,HTML, POP. IPv4 / IPv6
Design
Rack mounting The type of mounting that can position devices in a shelving system (rack).
Stackable Devices can be placed on top of each other.
Form factor The shape or design of the product. 1U
Product colour The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white. Black
LED indicators
DIN rail mounting
Performance
Physical stacking (units) 12
Noise level The amplitude level of the undesired background noise, usually measured in decibels (db). 41.9 dB
Mean time between failures (MTBF) Statistical model used to indicate product/mechanism reliability; expressed in hours and percentage of duty cycle. This number (in hours) does not indicate the mean time before failure for a single unit/mechanism. 676362 h
Power
Redundant power supply (RPS) support Additional power supply which can run a computer if the main power supply fails.
Number of power supply units 1
AC input voltage The voltage of the AC electricity that is inputted into the product. 100 - 240 V

Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Power over Ethernet (PoE) The device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), which is one of several standardized or ad-hoc systems which pass electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras.
