Power

The processor is the renowned Intel Core i7-9750H 9th gen. This is a six-core 2.6GHz base CPU with boost capability up to 4.5GHz.

The i7-9850 can only be beaten by its i9 bigger-brothers (such as the i9-8950HK or 9980HK). So it's still in the top 5 world-wide right now.

Combined with a GTX 1660TI, 16GB DDR4 2666MHz and a 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD - the hp omen 15.6" will do extremely well on high and even ultra 1080p gaming. 

Portable

At 2.32kg, throw in the charger and a mouse into your backpack and the 7qg98pa will certainly exceed 3kg. This certainly isn't as light as other "portable" gaming laptops, such as the Razer Blade series.

However, for being a 15" sized laptop and having a dedicated graphics processor. We are impressed by what HP has packed into the 7qg98pa.

Nothing holds you back

One great thing about this gaming laptop is that it's expandable. It has user-serviceable HDD, SSD and RAM slots. So in the future, you can easily bump up the RAM to 32GB or throw in a bigger SSD.

The good and bad

We like that the parts are all complimentary to one another, and there's no bottlenecking. The system performance, keyboard, expandability, ports and touchpads are all excellent.

We're not a fan of the horrible pre-installed HP software. It's a little on the heavier side and runs a little hot under load.

With all that said, the hp omen 15.6" 7qg98pa fhd gaming laptop is definitely one of the best bang for your buck 2019 laptops.
