Description
The GWN7800 series are Layer 2+ managed network switches that allow small-to-medium enterprises to build scalable, secure, high performance, and smart business networks that are fully manageable.
The GWN7803 supports advanced VLAN for flexible and sophisticated traffic segmentation, advanced QoS for prioritization of network traffic, IGMP Snooping for network performance optimization, and comprehensive security capabilities against potential attacks.
The GWN7800 series can be managed in a number of ways, including the local network controller embedded in the web user interface of the GWN7800 series switch. The series is also supported by GWN.Cloud and GWN Manager, Grandstream’s cloud and on-premise Wi-Fi management platform. The enterprise-grade GWN7800 series are the ideal managed network switches for small-to-medium businesses.

| Management features | |
| Switch type What switch device has, managed or unmanaged. | Managed |
| Switch layer A network switch is a computer networking device that links networking segments. A switch has different layers, such as layer 2 (a network bridge, operating at the data link layer, interconnecting a small number of devices) and layer 4 (can act as a firewall, amongst other things). | L2+ |
| Quality of Service (QoS) support |
| Web-based management Using a website/web application to manage something. |
| Configuring Location Settings (CLI) |
| Ports & interfaces | |
| Basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports quantity The number of basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports (sockets). | 24 |
| Basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports type The type/category of basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports (sockets). | Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) |
| Installed SFP modules quantity An SFP ("small form-factor pluggable transceiver") is a transmitter/receiver which interfaces a network device motherboard (e.g. in a switch, router) to a fibre optic or copper network cable. The "SFP ports quantity" is the number of ports for SFP connections in a device. | 4 |
| Network | |
| Networking standards The way in which the network is working, e.g. IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g. | IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3at, IEEE 802.3i, IEEE 802.3p, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3x, IEEE 802.3z |
| 10G support The product can use Oracle 10G, which is a database management system introduced in 2003. |
| Port mirroring |
| IP routing |
| Rate limiting |
| Spanning tree protocol |
| Ethernet LAN data rates The different speed levels of the Ethernet LAN connection. | 10,100,1000 Mbit/s |
| Auto-sensing |
| Auto-negotiation |
| Active link detection |
| VLAN support A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) consists of a group of computers and switches that can be physically distributed over different networks and buildings, but form one LAN on a logical level. |
| Number of VLANs | 4000 |
| Data transmission | |
| Switching capacity The data transfer capacity of the switch per second. | 56 Gbit/s |
| Throughput | 28 Gbit/s |
| Forwarding rate | 41.66 Mpps |
| Store-and-forward |
| Static route |
| Number of static routes | 8000 |
| Security | |
| DHCP features | DHCP snooping, DHCP relay, DHCPv6 snooping, DHCP server |
| Access Control List (ACL) |
| Access Control List (ACL) rules | 1500 |
| IGMP snooping |
| MAC address filtering Security access control method whereby the 48-bit address assigned to each network card is used to determine access to the network. MAC addresses are uniquely assigned to each card, so using MAC filtering on a network permits and denies network access to specific devices through the use of blacklists and whitelists. |
| SSH/SSL support |
| Loop protection |
| BPDU filtering/protection |
| IP-MAC-Port binding |
| Password protection The computer, smartphone etc. can only be used when the correct password is entered, therefore making it more secure. |
| Authentication type Authentification means proving identity to gain access to sometheng. There are various types of authentification exist e.g. access card, password, biometric data. | IEEE 802.1x |
| Multicast features | |
| Multicast support |
| Design | |
| Rack mounting The type of mounting that can position devices in a shelving system (rack). |
| Stackable Devices can be placed on top of each other. |
| Product colour The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white. | Black |
| LED indicators |
| Power | |
| Power source What is providing power for the product e.g. mains electricity. | AC |
| Power supply included There is a power supply with this product. |
| Power consumption (typical) Amount of power consumed by this model, often expressed in watts (W). Typical values that manufacturers give are power consumption when off, standby/suspended mode, typical use, maximum usage. | 30 W |
| Power over Ethernet (PoE) | |
| Power over Ethernet (PoE) The device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), which is one of several standardized or ad-hoc systems which pass electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras. |
