Improve network performance while reducing the time and cost of provisioning and management
cnMatrix™ EX2028-P switches simplify network deployment and operation. When deployed with cnPilot™ WLAN access points and the cnMaestro™ management system, network operators have an affordable, feature rich, high quality unified wired/ wireless enterprise grade network. Improve performance, security and end user satisfaction while reducing costs with cnMatrix EX2028-P.
Management features
Switch type What switch device has, managed or unmanaged. Managed
Switch layer A network switch is a computer networking device that links networking segments. A switch has different layers, such as layer 2 (a network bridge, operating at the data link layer, interconnecting a small number of devices) and layer 4 (can act as a firewall, amongst other things). L2
Quality of Service (QoS) support
Web-based management Using a website/web application to manage something.
ARP inspection
Configuring Location Settings (CLI)
System event log
User operation log
Ports & interfaces
Basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports quantity The number of basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports (sockets). 24
Basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports type The type/category of basic switching RJ-45 Ethernet ports (sockets). Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000)
Installed SFP+ modules quantity An SFP ("small form-factor pluggable transceiver") is a transmitter/receiver which interfaces a network device motherboard (e.g. in a switch, router) to a fibre optic or copper network cable. The enhanced small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) is an enhanced version of the SFP that supports data rates up to 10 Gbit/s. The "SFP+ ports quantity" is the number of ports for SFP+ connections in a device. 4
USB 2.0 ports quantity Number of USB 2.0 ports (connecting interfaces) in the device. USB 2.0 was released in April 2000 (now called "Hi-Speed"), adding higher maximum signaling rate of 480 Mbit/s (effective throughput up to 35 MB/s or 280 Mbit/s), USB 2.0 ports are usually black. 1
Network
Networking standards The way in which the network is working, e.g. IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g. IEEE 802.1D, IEEE 802.1Q, IEEE 802.1ab, IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1s, IEEE 802.1w, IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3ac, IEEE 802.3ad, IEEE 802.3ak, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3x
Flow control support
Broadcast storm control
Auto MDI/MDI-X A Medium Dependent Interface (MDI) describes the interface (both physical and electrical) in a computer network from a physical layer implementation to the physical medium used to carry the transmission. Ethernet over twisted pair also defines a medium dependent interface crossover (MDIX) interface. Auto-MDIX ports on newer network interfaces detect if the connection would require a crossover, and automatically chooses the MDI or MDIX configuration to properly match the other end of the link.
VLAN support A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) consists of a group of computers and switches that can be physically distributed over different networks and buildings, but form one LAN on a logical level.
Number of VLANs 4094
Data transmission
Switching capacity The data transfer capacity of the switch per second. 128 Gbit/s
Throughput 128000 Mpps
MAC address table The MAC address is the 'Media Access Control Address'. It is a unique address given to a network interface controller (NIC) in a device. A MAC address table shows the addresses in a table format. 16384 entries
Packet buffer memory 1.5 MB
Security
DHCP features DHCPv6 snooping
Access Control List (ACL)
IGMP snooping
IGMP proxy
Security algorithms Security algorithms are used to provide authentication, cipher key generation, integrity and radio link privacy to users on mobile networks. The security algorithms supported are the ones that can be used with this product. 802.1x RADIUS
MAC address filtering Security access control method whereby the 48-bit address assigned to each network card is used to determine access to the network. MAC addresses are uniquely assigned to each card, so using MAC filtering on a network permits and denies network access to specific devices through the use of blacklists and whitelists.
Static port security
SSH/SSL support
Password protection The computer, smartphone etc. can only be used when the correct password is entered, therefore making it more secure.
Authentication type Authentification means proving identity to gain access to sometheng. There are various types of authentification exist e.g. access card, password, biometric data. RADIUS
Protocols
Management protocols SNMP v1, v2, and v3, SSH 1.5 and 2.0, RFC 4252: SSH, RFC 4253: SSH,• RFC 4254: SSH, RFC 4251: SSH, RFC 4716: SECSH, RFC 4419, SSL 3.0, RFC 2246, RFC 2818, RFC 3268
Design
Rack mounting The type of mounting that can position devices in a shelving system (rack).
Form factor The shape or design of the product. 1U
Product colour The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white. Grey
LED indicators Link, PoE
Number of fans The quantity of fans (apparatus with rotating blades that creates a current of air for cooling or ventilation). 2 fan(s)
Performance
Internal memory The amount of memory, usually measured in bytes (e.g. MB, GB), which is installed in the system's hardware. 512 MB
Flash memory 128 MB
Mean time between failures (MTBF) Statistical model used to indicate product/mechanism reliability; expressed in hours and percentage of duty cycle. This number (in hours) does not indicate the mean time before failure for a single unit/mechanism. 285350 h
Power
Power supply included There is a power supply with this product.
AC input voltage The voltage of the AC electricity that is inputted into the product. 100 - 230 V
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Power over Ethernet (PoE) The device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), which is one of several standardized or ad-hoc systems which pass electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras.
Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports quantity 24
Power over Ethernet (PoE) power per port 30 W
Total Power over Ethernet (PoE) budget 400 W
Operational conditions
Operating temperature (T-T) The minimum and maximum temperatures at which the product can be safely operated. 0 - 50 °C
Storage temperature (T-T) The minimum and maximum temperatures at which the product can be safely stored. 40 - 70 °C
Weight & dimensions
Width The measurement or extent of something from side to side. 440 mm
Depth The distance from the front to the back of something. 250 mm
Height The measurement of the product from head to foot or from base to top. 44 mm
