- The evolution of a studio legend
The DT 1990 PRO MKII open-back studio headphones are the second generation of the critically acclaimed DT 1990 PRO. The new MKII version boasts improved sound, increased comfort and industry-leading workmanship made in Germany. At the heart is the newly developed TESLA.45 driver technology. Suitable for mixing, mastering and editing, they are the perfect choice for discerning users who want to take their tracks to the next level. - The Open-back reference
Thanks to their Open-back design, the DT 1990 PRO MKII offers a natural, spatial sound pattern, which makes them ideal for professional mixing, mastering and editing. - The new generation of TESLA technology
The DT 1990 PRO MKII features the latest generation of TESLA driver technology TESLA.45 Redesigned from the ground up, the 45mm driver system boasts excellent resolution, extremely low distortion and outstanding impulse behavior. The TESLA.45 provides signal fidelity even at high volumes.
Our engineers have managed to combine studio sound and flexibility thanks to weight-optimised materials. The DT 1990 PRO MKII has an impedance of 30 ohms, which means that the studio headphones can be used with a variety of user interfaces.
When it comes to sound, the reference model boasts precise bass response right down to the lowest octaves. The slightly reduced trebles compared to the original version offer a high amount of information and help to avoid wrong decisions when mixing. In addition thanks to the wide sound stage, instruments and voices can be precisely pinpointed.
The TESLA.45 sound transducers are manufactured at our company headquarters in Germany. That said, each DT 1990 PRO MKII contains two TESLA.45 sound transducers, which are measured several times during the various production steps. - Professional level flexibility
Designed to maxamise flexibility, the DT 1990 PRO MKII is supplied with two different types of ear pads. The Producing Velours fitted as standard deliver a full sound thanks to a slight bass boost. The Mixing & Mastering Velours offer a more analytical sound. A straight cable (3m) and a coiled cable (5m) are included. Both have a lockable 3-pin mini XLR plug. Everything is safely stored in a high-quality hard case to protect your investment. - Maximum comfort
The DT 1990 PRO MKII is designed for several hours of use in the studio and offers outstanding comfort. The robust, flexible spring steel headband design ensures optimum contact pressure. Thanks to the skin friendly velour ear pads, the headphones are comfortable to wear even during long sessions.
The headband, consisting of soft memory foam and durable leatherette, adapts to the shape of the head. In addition, the now fontanelle recess avoids pain-sensitive areas on the head. Both the headband and ear pad can also be replaced if necessary.

| Bluetooth Bluetooth is a low-power radio technology developed to replace the cables and wires currently used to link or connect electronic devices such as personal computers, printers, and a wide variety of handheld devices including mobile phones. Because it uses radio-wave connectivity, a Bluetooth-enabled device has a constant, established connection to whatever browser it uses. This saves the user the trouble of logging on to check for emails or news updates, for example. |

| Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) Total harmonic distortion is a measure of non-linear harmonic distortion and is given in %. Non-linear harmonic distortions are signals which were not present in the original before the signal was converted by the headphones. These unwanted signals are caused by the diaphragm, whose movements do not precisely move in time with the electric signals that cause it to move. Unfortunately, this is a feature of all electroacoustic transducers. Although it cannot be completely eliminated, suitable steps can be taken to minimise it. However, the user is not interested in why this distortion takes place but in how great the level of distortion must be for it to become perceptible. According to the findings of several research projects, a total harmonic distortion of 1% in the frequency range of 100 to 2000 Hz is imperceptible. Below 100 Hz, the perceptibility threshold lies at 10%. | 0.2% |
