ATEN VE883K2-AT-U, 4096 x 2160 pixels, AV transmitter & receiver, 10000 m, Wired, 3D, HDCP
The VE883 is a fiber-based extender designed to extend uncompressed 4K signal up to 300 m (using VE883K1) or 10 km (using VE883K2) over duplex fiber optic cables. The VE883 meets HDMI Specifications, including 3D, Deep Color (up to 12 bit), and signaling rates (up to 10.2 Gb) to ensure superior video quality. With ATEN s exclusive FarSmooth technology, the VE883 prevents lagging and freezing by matching the output rates to the input rates and ensures the video display is stable, smooth and identical to the source, particularly in long-distance extension applications where uninterrupted video streams are required. The VE883 features an HDMI input and output, analog audio input and output, USB2.0, IR, RS-232 control port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. For point-to-point extension, the VE883 can receive fiber optic cables by inserting SFP+ modules to its optic port.
To avoid bulky cable setup, the VE883 guarantees a simple and fast solution for optimum transmission of Ethernet, IR, HDMI, RS-232, and USB signals up to 10 km simply via a set of duplex optic fiber. The VE883 is also USB transparent, making it compatible with a wide range of USB peripherals.
Engineered to meet the latest trend of lossless 4K and long distance signal extension, VE883 is suitable for where long distance transmission is a must and little interference is allowed, such as in traffic station and modern office buildings.

| Features | |
| Type Characteristics of the device. | AV transmitter & receiver |
| Maximum resolution The maximum number of pixels that can be displayed in the image. It is usually quoted as width × height,: for example, "1024 × 768" means the width is 1024 pixels and the height is 768 pixels. | 4096 x 2160 pixels |
| Cable types supported | Fiber |
| Maximum transfer distance The greatest distance over which the data/signal can be transferred. | 10000 m |
| Fiber optic wavelengths supported | 1310 nm |
| Fiber mode structure | Single-mode |
| Bidirectional Bidirectional script support is the capability of a computer system to correctly display bi-directional text. The term is often shortened to BiDi or bidi. Bi-directional text is text containing text in both text directionalities, both right-to-left (RTL) and left-to-right (LTR). It generally involves text containing different types of alphabets. |
|
| Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection | 15 kV |
| LED indicators |
|
| Supported graphics resolutions The graphic resolutions that can be displayed by the device. The graphic resolution describes the width and height dimensions of a display, such as a computer monitor, measured in pixels. | 3840 x 2160, 4096 x 2160 |
| Bandwidth Bandwidth is the difference between the upper and lower frequencies in a continuous set of frequencies. It is typically measured in Hertz (Hz). A key characteristic of bandwidth is that any band of a given width can carry the same amount of information, regardless of where that band is located in the frequency spectrum. For example, a 3 kHz band can carry a telephone conversation whether that band is at baseband (as in a POTS telephone line) or modulated to some higher frequency. | 340 MHz |
| HDCP High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of digital copy protection to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections. |
|
| Material The material from which a thing is or can be made e.g. wood, plastic. | Metal |
| 3D The device can be used with 3D technology. |
|
| Firmware upgradeable |
|
| Plug and Play Indicates whether this product supports is "plug and play". Plug and play is hardware or software that, after being installed ("plugged in"), can immediately be used ("played with"), as opposed to hardware or software which requires configuration. |
|
| HDCP version | 2.2 |
| Product colour The colour e.g. red, blue, green, black, white. | Black |
| Ports & interfaces | |
| Connectivity technology The technology that enables connectivity of the device, e.g. wired or wireless. | Wired |
| Ethernet LAN An Ethernet LAN (Local Area Network) interface is present, for a wired conection via a cable. |
|
| RJ-45 input ports | 1 |
| RJ-45 output ports | 1 |
| HDMI in Port (socket) for HDMI input. | 1 |
| Number of HDMI outputs Port (socket) for HDMI output. | 1 |
| Fiber optic connector This terminates the end of an optical fiber, and enables quicker connection and disconnection than splicing. The connectors mechanically couple and align the cores of fibers so light can pass. Better connectors lose very little light due to reflection or misalignment of the fibers. In all there have been about 100 types of optic fiber connectors produced. | LC |
| USB ports quantity | 1 |
| USB version Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard developed in the mid-1990s that defines the interface used for connection, communication and power supply between computers and electronic devices. Every new version - for example 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 - is much faster than the previous one. | 2.0 |
| USB connector type The type of USB connector/port that this product has. | Micro-USB B |
| RS-232 input ports | 2 |
| 3.5 mm (1/8-inch) in |
|
| DC-in jack The socket/plug where the DC electricity supply connects to the device. |
|
| Power | |
| Operating voltage Defines the range of operating voltages available | 5 V |
| Power consumption (transmitter) (max) | 7.05 W |
| Power consumption (receiver) (max) | 6.77 W |
| Operational conditions | |
| Operating temperature (T-T) The minimum and maximum temperatures at which the product can be safely operated. | 0 - 40 °C |
